HEL Direct Fit Oil Cooler Kit for VAG MQB EA888.3 & EA888.4 2.0 TFSI Engines The VAG EA888 2.0 TFSI engine is a common powerhouse across several popular models in the Audi S-Line, Volkswagen GTI and R, Seat FR, and Skoda VRS range. After the success of our previous Ford RS, Toyota GR, and Honda Type R direct-fit oil cooler kits, we knew we had to keep the development rolling with other popular models. Our goal was simple; to design and manufacture user-friendly, easy-to-install kits that require either no, or very little modifications. Every HEL oil cooler kit features a high-quality, reliable oil cooler manufactured by Setrab in Sweden. We have been using Setrab coolers for 10 years, and have never had any issues with the performance or quality. Having an oil cooler fail or even burst is not something you want to experience, especially in demanding conditions and that is something we have never seen with Setrab’s build quality. In the past, we’ve even had reports of front-end collisions and the Setrab oil cooler was the only component that still worked! All HEL direct-fitting oil cooler brackets are laser cut, precision folded, and powdercoated in Black to result in a stealthy finish. Promoting direct airflow, the Setrab oil cooler was securely mounted behind the Abarth logo, proving as the most suitable location for effective cooling, performance, and accessibility. Delivered with pre-assembled braided hoses and Aluminium fittings, our comprehensive kit has everything required for a straightforward installation. Using high-flow AN10 performance hose to deliver and return oil from the external oil cooler, this kit also includes a 90° oil filter take-off plate and spacer plate combination, which is equipped with a built-in thermostat. The thermostat ensures that your engine oil flows to the external oil cooler only when the oil reaches the desired temperature (92°C / 198°F). Around 10% of the engine oil circulates through the oil cooler at any given time, this ensures a continuous flow that prevents air pockets and safeguards against thermal shock to the system. The surplus oil is then channelled back to the engine through the internal bypass system, promoting faster warm-up, providing added safeguarding in cold weather conditions, and eliminates the risk of overcooling.
