DescriptionIn Slavic folklore and mythology, all homes have a Domovik / Domovoi who is believed to be the soul of one (or all) of the deceased members of the family, making him a part of ancestor worship traditions. Traditionally living at the threshold under the entrance, in the attic, or mainly in the hearth or behind the stove, everyone took care to not disturb the smouldering remains of a fire to keep their ancestors from falling through the grate.
