DescriptionHorseshoes are considered Good Luck Charms in many cultures. They are found all over the world, and date back to at least 500 AD, but may be older. Some believe they must be hung with the 2 ends pointing up so the luck does not fall out. Others think it must be hung with the 2 points down so the luck pours onto you. Some people don’t give a shit and believe as long as the horseshoe has been used, was found, and touched by the owner. I personally have hung 2 hanging in my home. One pointing up, and one pointing down and this covers all the bases. haha.One story about why we hang horseshoes involves Saint Dunstan and the Devil. Dunstan was a blacksmith by trade, and was said to have nailed a horseshoe to the Devil’s hoof instead of the Devil’s horse. This caused the Devil great pain, and Dunstan only agreed to remove after the Devil promised never to enter a place where a horseshoe is hung over the door.The Lucky golden horseshoe was procured from an estate sale.
